About the episode

Where do artists find their inspiration? Kinderling Kid, Marcel, meets up with contemporary artist, Dale Harding, to find out! Dale is a Brisbane-based artist who draws on his family stories and lineage with the Bidjara, Garingbal and Ghungalu peoples to make his art. Dale makes contemporary paintings inspired by the galleries of rock art, and the natural world of his grandparent’s countries.  In this episode, Dale shares some of his favourite stories about the land, animals and family history that inspire his art. And we learn that art can teach us a lot about our environment, and even bring us closer together as people by showing us what we have in common.  Outside the Lines is a Kinderling co-production with the Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art’s Children’s Art Centre. This production was possible thanks to the generous support of the Neilson Foundation. Produced by Caitlin Gibson Sound Design and Mix by Camilla Hannan Executive Producer: Lorna Clarkson
